Monday, December 29, 2008 Dear Members, Signaling the severity of current world economic downturn, we hereby announced the urgent need for immediate action. As per recent news paper call upon nationwide individual to come together as ONE team to overcome this financial storm. Current storm may appears to be subsiding, the actual situation is far from fully back to normal with the real economies gradually feeling the impact of the financial troubles. Some Asian countries could still be hit by a "new wave of problems". To prepare for the worse business operation environments in coming 2009, the Group has decided to take further measurements to reduce our company operation costs. 1. The Group will activate cost reduction across the region to lower existing overhead cost (basic salary) range from 8% to 30% for staff grading from grade 3.1 onwards. 2. For some divisions and staffs grade from 3 and below, there will be 2 days force unpaid leave in a month from Jan 2009 onwards. Company cannot sail through this storm on autopilot. The group management are taking even larger reduction on themselves. Your business unit President/Division Head and our SA Group HR Head will be holding a communication session by respective business unit in due course. We have to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best. Once the business environments turn to normal and our business operation results allow, we will resume the salary scheme practice back to normal. We certainly hope this day will be soon. The Group management Angela just told me that she talked to Nuri*my recept* liao..that she tks AM half for the 2 daes..so that i wont need to do her things and all i have to do is to sit there and ans phone calls etc lor..thats one thing lor..i dun like being a receptionist....its boring lah... need to go find part time job liao...if not, i dun think i can survive lor..its pathetic lah~~~ my PerFeCt LifE-`.  |
